Boutique Noir Boudior

Am thrilled with my new Noir bedroom, I love the pops of colour from the beautiful Rebekah Maysles Moroccan inspired shams (Anthropologie). The coral, teal and black against the crisp white and the richness of the gold is so luxurious. A few upcycled vintage frames and select prints add depth and interest.  I was aiming for a boutique hotel feel for our master bedroom and I just love it! Hope you enjoy, and maybe get inspired for your own bedroom reno!

Monochromatic Retro Drawers with John Rombola

This sorry excuse for a child's set of drawers was screaming out for a makeover and I knew just the paper to do it! Recently rediscovered by a new generation of art and design lovers, John Rombola's illustration's are described as rambunctious and spirited. His eccentric eclectic style create fun and interest. Depicted here are 'Apple' 'Pinapple and other 'Miss fruit' queens in their finery. Absolutely adorable and for the young or young at heart.

Tropic Chic’

These retro bedsides in their original smoke and ash coloured veneer needed very little to bring them into focus. I loved their colour and they so beautifully complimented the vintage bamboo wallpaper they looked as though they were made for one another. The vibrant green bamboo freshens the pallet and adds interest. The painted gold legs and clear glass pulls add a glamorous twist moving this retro pair from retro drab to retro fab tropical chic! I LOVE these and have had to wrestle them from my sisters clutches! Such a statement piece and perfect for our gorgeous sunshine state!

Camille's Old English Roses

I saw stunning Camille amongst a collection of Op shop clutter, she immediately caught my eye with her lovely lines and art deco mouldings - she had the hallmarks of 1950's French glamour. A coat of 'evening' black instantly transformed Camille from a wallflower piece to the main event. Of course I have added a vintage wallpaper insert using the most luxurious English floral on coal black and distressed her just a little to show her charm. The beautiful wallpaper was very difficult to find and Camille had a long wait while I sourced just the right accent finish. The rarer floral on black is more seductive than the traditional floral ranges commonly on white or pastel and adds a contemporary allure to an old classic. An elegant glass dome pull set on brass adds a touch of vintage parlour chic. Camille is a glamours old piece who like all true women is ageing with grace and style.

Adel and Evie

This striking set of white bedside drawers are complimented with colour popping  vintage lattice wallpaper inserts. Adel and Evie are a fresh and contemporary take on a 70's classic. The stunning lattice wallpaper in a mustard tone works well with all colours. These bedsides would be best suited against white and decorated with other bold colours. Don't be afraid to uses these two in a living room as occasional tables, perfect for storing magazines or throws.

Beautiful Billie

Billie’ is a beautifully upcycled 1950’s chest of drawers, and the first of my items for my ebay store Vintage Villa Interiors. My etsy store is a new direction for me, focusing on decorating and recycling vintage pieces. Upcycled furniture takes good quality, unique items and gives them a new lease of life. 'Billie' journey starts with gorgeous gender neutral Belle & Boo paper, featuring sweet detailed images of both little boys and little girls. The bold black frame is a contemporary contrast that brings ‘Billie’ into focus.

Beautiful Bedside Manner

This retro 70's styled night stand has great bones. The unique octagonal 'bun' feet are the highlight for me and have been  brought into focus with a lick of fresh blue. Silver, gold and soft blue paisley damask inserts add drama and detail. The result is old world glamour meets retro styling.
